The story behind the music

Our Story

The Worst of You and Me emerged from the vibrant local music scene in Lewiston, Maine. We first crossed paths at an open mic night, where we quickly recognized a shared musical chemistry.

What started as acoustic performances at local venues gradually evolved as we discovered our true passion lay in heavier music. Most of us work in the mental health industry, and we found ourselves connecting over shared experiences with trauma and the healing power of music.

Music became our coping skill, our way of processing the complexities of life and mental health. Our name reflects our philosophy: embracing the parts of ourselves and others that aren't perfect, that are messy and complicated, and finding strength in that vulnerability. From Lewiston's stages to wherever our music takes us, we're committed to authentic expression and genuine connection.

Our Philosophy

"Might as well be hanged for a sheep as a lamb. If we're going to pour our hearts out, expose our vulnerabilities, and risk everything for our music, we're going all the way. No half measures, no holding back. When you're already committed to being raw and real, you might as well give everything you've got."
